  1. The Mara Reserve did not contain an appreciable number of settlements or any agriculture and these covariates were not included in the model definition. Similarly, there is very little agriculture in the community conservancies and this covariate was not included in the model definition. Models for the three comparison strata (season, sex, time-of day) followed the same model structure
