Dark areas are predicted to have low resistance to movement while light colored areas are predicted to represent high movement cost. State boundaries are shown in dashed grey lines, and the network of state, federal and interstate highways is shown in white lines. The white box in the upper left corner depicts the location where the highway crossing data used to validate the predicted corridors were collected.
