Peaks of several variables (i.e., downward shortwave radiation, precipitation fraction, sensible heat flux, and total atmospheric water) are within one hour of the start of stopover, indicating rapid response by Turkey Vultures to deteriorating weather conditions. Several other variables are declining at the start of stopover, i.e., thermal updraft velocity, boundary height, temperature, and wind speed
