To show the predicted between-species effect of each explanatory variable on arrival timing separately, the other variable was set to its corresponding mean value. The fitted values (black solid lines) with the 95% credible intervals (grey polygons) are given. The within-species effect of either explanatory variable on the dependent variable is visualized with species-specific regression lines, and the models’ corresponding random effects are shown in Fig. 3. Raw data are given in species-specific colours (Table 1)
