Female Laysan albatrosses reach more distant foraging grounds than males. A linear regression shows no relationship between body size and maximum distance in (a) black-footed albatrosses (F1,17 = 1.26, P = 0.28, R2 = 0.07), whereas maximum distance shows a significant negative correlation with body size in (b) Laysan albatrosses (F1,14 = 6.73, P = 0.02, R 2 = 0.33).
